Viserra shares new single, ‘Light Years’ – Reignland

Alt-rock band, Viserra is back with rock masterpiece, ‘Light Years’. This track has intriguing guitar melodies mixed with killer drums and bass. The style reminds me of The Veronica’s or Paramore, almost like something you heard in Hot Topic. The lead singer’s vocals are so soft yet so perfect for this style of music. The beat switch up towards the end that creates a build is too die for and I can’t get over how edgy and perfectly done it was.

According to their press release, ‘Light Years’ is the opening track to Siren Star, our episodic concept album which chronicles the epic struggle of two star-crossed lovers separated by time and space. Their perspectives alternate throughout the album and in the opening chapter, an astronaut is forced to leave someone behind, floating in orbit around a star with only their suit, and afterward the two desperately attempt to reconnect — which is reflected in the escalating emotions of the vocals as they crescendo during the crazed final chorus and outro.

The songs are intended to work with and without the concept album context, however, as the lyrics can generally be taken literally or figuratively. VISERRA is Lexi Littlejohn on vocals, Rafael Jordan on guitars, Stephen Rosolio on bass and Michael Riffle on drums. SIREN STAR, the band’s debut album, was completed in May 2020 in North Hollywood — mixed, mastered and produced by acclaimed singer/songwriter Brandon C. Rogers (Alec Benjamin, Troye Sivan, FlowBack, Shokichi), and will be distributed by AWAL/Kobalt on August 14th.
