Suzie Chism releases new single, ‘Paco’ – Reignland

Suzie Chism is excited to announce her latest single “Paco”. The song is Chism’s first release since her debut solo album Wherefeaturing the singles “Five Minute Face” and “Talkers”—arrived in March. The track reminds me of Lana Del Rey with the style of medloies and the retro sound in her vocals. The track is so beautiful and really showcases her ability to take such a soothing track and create such an expeirnce.

Suzie says—

“My most pop work yet, my new song “Paco” captures a golden season of my life during which I relocated to Los Angeles from Nashville. Working alone in isolation from the COVID-19 pandemic, I tracked guitars, synth, light percussion, and a drum machine in my Hollywood apartment, and sent it to Zack Pancoast to mix in Nashville in hopes that the song’s optimistic and sunny nature would paint gold the listeners’ quarantine blues this summer. I added the sound of coins to the song because Paco and I frequented arcades; every part of this song is a true story about how love can transport you physically and emotionally to places you do not expect. I chose Tony Smith in Nashville to film the video, as his work is always quirky and creative, and will parallel and compliment the oddball glamour that I visualize for the song.”

Chism studied vocal performance at the University of Nevada, Reno before recording a duet-style project with ‘90s hitmaker Edwin McCain (“I’ll Be,” “I Could Not Ask for More”), which influenced her relocation to Nashville, Tennessee in 2010.

Moseley shared the stage with the Counting Crows, Black Stone Cherry and the Whigs and toured internationally with the rap artist Yelawolf. Chism recorded and toured internationally with Fefe Dobson, during which time Moseley was given the opportunity to record their album with producer Jay Joyce (Cage the Elephant, Eric Church, Iggy Pop, Halestorm, The Wallflowers), which piqued Chism’s interest in production work. I can’t wait to go listen to her full project, as I am now a new fan.
