Raye Zaragoza want girls to ‘Fight Like A Girl’ in new powerful single. – Reignland
Raye Zaragoza (pronounced ray zay-rah-GO-zah) shatters the idea of what women can and cannot do in her new single, ‘Fight Like A Girl.’ The Tucker Martine (The Decemberists, Modest Mouse, Camera Obscura) produced track is a fun upbeat track that makes you feel good about yourself on first listen. Her soothing vocals effortlessly guides along the airey instrumental until the end.
Raye Zaragoza shares, “It’s about how ‘fighting like a girl’ means something different to every female-identifying person out there. It is about the resilience of women of color and all women. It is time for feminism to include all women – Indigenous, Immigrant, Trans, and all those marginalized for their identities. This is the time for intersectional feminism and the youth will lead the way!” I totally agree, she’s releasing this at the perfect time. This is a time for self-love and girl empowerment. This song adds to the breaking of the cycle that girls have limitations based on gender. We need more of this music.
Raye Zaragoza has garnered attention from Billboard and Paste Magazine, as well as having spoken on panels at Bonnaroo and SXSW on topics ranging from preventing sexual violence to engaging her fanbase as an independent artist. She has been deemed as a voice for young women from a multicultural background.
