The Weeknd set SNL on fire this weekend by performing two songs from the album, ‘Blinding Lights’ & ‘Scared To Live’. This his third time since 2014. The Grammy-winning artist served as this week’s musical guest, delivering jaw-dropping performances. You can check out The Weeknd’s performance above and below. The Weeknd’s After Hours—the follow-up to 2016’s Starboy—will hit streaming services on March 20. 

“I feel confident with where I’m taking this [new] record. There’s also a very committed vision and character being portrayed and I get to explore a different side of me that my fans have never seen,” he told CR Men about After Hours, before touching on its lead single “Heartless.” “It felt fitting for me to put it out. I play a character in the video who becomes compromised and then overcompensates with all the sins that Vegas provides. It’s a great introduction to the next chapter of my life.”

He got fans excited when he released the first single, “Heartless” in late November last year which was quickly followed by “Blinding Lights.” The song was featured in a Mercedes-Benz commercial and has become the official theme song for WrestleMania 36.

Gina Brooklyn really puts her all into her newest offering, ‘Hey Man’. Her vocals and the melody remind me of a Lorde record a little, dark but addictive. I love the unqiue texture of her voice and the mood it creates everytime you hear it. She wanted to try something new with this one she shared, “I really loved the idea of creating something so fun and harsh- and out came this song! I wrote this song from the perspective of God; Though this song isn’t explicitly a “Christian” song, which I also did on purpose, the meaning behind it remains true to the basic ideas of what it means to be human in the context OF Christianity. “

She continued, ‘It’s basically about “man” (being a fallen human), choosing sin & evil over God, and through it all, God continues to offer help and guidance even though it’s continuously rejected. Overall it’s quite deep, but I wrote it in a way where everyone would be able to listen and take what they want from it!” I can’t wait to see the video!
