JANNA is a singer, songwriter and producer. After years of performing live on stage and TV, collaborating and singing behind various artists, she is now releasing her second single from her upcoming EP as a solo artist with the honest and soulful song “Dreamer”. This Gothenburg, Sweden native – daughter of musicians – started her musical journey at the age of 4 when she started playing the cello. Although from a classical background she pretty quickly started moving into the world of jazz and soul, which has also been her main musical influences which can be heard in her soulful voice.

This year, 24-year old singer/songwriter Axel Flóvent returned home to Iceland, and chose to plant roots in Reykjavík. Tapping into the D.I.Y. spirit of his earliest recordings, but with a sense of refinement and newfound wisdom, Axel carefully assembled his debut album with producer Ian Grimble (1975, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Daughter, Bear’s Den, Mumford & Sons).  He incorporated brass on nearly every tune, adding a robust organic energy to the tracks. Simultaneously, he chronicled his personal and musical growth. Lead single “Tourist” marks the first step. He delicately strums an acoustic guitar on the verses as a resounding chorus – “Maybe you’ll find it” – subsides into a swelling horn section. “That ‘It’ can be anything,” he reveals. “For me, it was home.” We can wait to hear more from this talented artist.

“I wrote the chorus of this song while on an airplane. I sometimes feel anxious about flying, so I’ll write lyrics while I fly to focus on something else. The song is both about the feeling of losing control and losing the ability to think logically and rationally when I get really anxious and about how important it is to have someone to ground you in those moments. ” he said about the track.

Canadian singer-songwriter Mike McKenna Jr has released a new track called “At the Edge of the World”, the title track from his forthcoming album titled At The Edge of the World. He shows his true passion for this track. A beautiful but sad song, it makes you appreciate the moment. The vocals are great as they harmonize with the background singer(s). The drums and keyboard are awesome too. Nice project.

According to his press release, The inspiration behind the title track At The Edge of the World unfolded as Mike came across a news article about one man’s experience as a first-responder of the crash of Swiss Air Flight 111 near Peggy’s Cove in 1998 and how it affected his life for years to come.

With that article, combined with old logbooks written by those responsible for recovering the bodies from the sinking of the RMS Titanic Mike found while researching for his first record, and more recent events of tourists being lost to the waves at Peggy’s Cove, the lyrics and central idea for the song are built of all three characters of those events; the responder for Swissair 111, the responder for the RMS Titanic, and the responder who rescues the tourists that perish near Peggy’s Cove each year.

“It seemed to me to be a similar story from different eras, all with their own ways of coping and remembering. Several of the 8 songs on the album pay tribute to similar true tales that are dark and heavy in nature, depicted through the voice of a sympathetic narrator,” said Mike.

The album, which is set to be released in April 2020, was produced by 23-year-old Berklee graduate Quinn Bachand (Rosier, Kittle & Co, Brishen) with the talented hands of Jon Anderson (Andy Shauf, Aiden Knight, Foxwarren) on mixing and Philip Shaw Bova (Father John Misty, Feist, Bahamas) with mastering.

Elias Boussnina has released dope new anthem ’Come Alive’ via Universal Music Denmark, taken from his debut album set for release Spring 2020. ’Come Alive’ follows hit singles in Elias’s native Denmark ‘Closer’, ‘Summertime Blue’ and ‘Boys Don’t Cry’. The track is such an imitate banger. When the song starts, his vocals instantly hits you with those moving tones in his vocals ever so slightly and the light piano playing in the background that turns into a powerful bassline and catchy chorus. I love how this track combines R&B, pop and some form of hip hop to create such a banger from this artist. I also like the distort vocals you hear at points of the song that give you that dark kind of vibe for just a second. The production is outstanding.

Elias said about ‘Come Alive’“Every time I work with incredible industry talent, I learn something new and evolve as an artist, I love how it stops me from getting stuck in my old routines. ‘Come Alive’ embraces that change. I was singing in the studio with Ronni and he started playing this epic piano riff and from that point, we just knew the song needed to be as huge and emotional as that sound. ‘Come Alive’ is about being willing to do ANYTHING for something or someone you love. Embracing that all-encompassing feeling is exactly what we wanted to express from the moment Ronnie started playing that monumental piano riff.”

The single was co-written and produced by renowned Danish writer and producer Ronni Vindahl (Kendrick Lamar, MØ, Avicii).

Tracks from Elias’s debut ‘EP Shameboy’ were released to critical acclaim in Denmark and supported online globally by the likes of Complex, God Is In The TV, Conversations About Her and Colors. Recent releases have amassed over 10 million streams on Spotify alone and garnered the artist over 420k monthly listeners.

Following the recent success, Elias was announced as the model for Calvin Klein by Storm Copenhagen, one of the highest-profile concept stores across Scandinavia and Europe, and is set to perform a series of live shows across Denmark in March, followed by a host of summer festivals.
