Genevieve Dawson releases jazzy first single from debut album, ‘Mountain’ – Reignland

Genevieve Dawson is coming into 2020 real smooth and jazzy with their first single ‘Mountain’. The track honestly reminds me of some of Sade’s music, effortlessly sultry and smooth like butter. Her vocals are so rich along side the nice jazz in the background.

‘Mountain’ is the first offering from her upcoming album, Letters I Won’t Send, recorded entirely in a self-built studio in a church in North London. You can definitely feel the intimate setting of a live band. Genevieve is joined in her band by an ensemble of players whose work includes jazz fusion ensemble Minyanta, new-soul artist Denai Moore and Mercury Prize-Winning Seed Ensemble. Co-Produced and engineered by fellow Goldsmiths alumni, Rotem Haguel and Rick Leigh, the album is a product of a strong musical community that has gathered around Genevieve’s music and garnered her a loyal following. I definitely can’t wait to hear more. This is a gem you need on your playlist.
