Esmée Denters makes her long-awaited return with new single, ‘Love Me The Same’ – Reignland

The former ‘Outta Here’ singer, Esmée Denters makes her long-awaited return to the main stage with her latest single “Love Me The Same”. This is the first release from a 3 single project: ‘Past, Present, Future’. Each single from the project takes on a period of time regarding a romantic relationship, with this first track taking on the later, asking questions of the partner and how they would feel in different hypothetical circumstances.

This track just reminds me of why I loved her music in the first place. From her soulful yet light vocals to the lyrics she speak, she always out does herself when it comes to her music. I was a fan of her as a kid and I always wondered where she went, to find out she is back with new music is insane.

Speaking in more detail regarding the release, Esmée shares;

We all go through hard times. We say things we don’t mean. So the song is about wanting your other half to love and accept you for who you are with all of your flaws, no matter what might come your way in the future. Initially, it was written as a ballad, but I felt like I wanted to take it in a different direction to offset the lyrics. My good friend and producer Shaun Reynolds then started shaping the track. Going back and forth on zoom calls without ever having to set foot in the studio. I recorded all the vocals from home. It’s pretty amazing what you can do with just a laptop, mic and an internet connection. 

Her debut studio album was released in 2009 with ‘Outta Here’ achieving a Top 10 in the UK Charts and over 8 Million Streams to date. She was subsequently invited on the Oprah Winfrey show and won an MTV Europe Music Award and the European Border Breakers Award. 

Since her discovery, Esmée has toured the world with the likes of Neyo, Enrique Iglesias and Justin Timberlake.

Esmée decided to audition for The Voice UK in 2015 after breaking with her record label and being out of the spotlight for a while. She got all 4 coaches to turn for her Blind Audition. She has over 140 million views on her YouTube channel to date.
