According to her bio, at just 21-years-old, Canal is one of today’s most inspiring and empowering artists. Having been born with one arm as a result of Amniotic Band Syndrome, Canal has made it her life’s mission to help people understand that everyone is born differently, whether those differences are seen or not. “It should be humanity’s mission to find acceptance and openness in themselves and in each other,” she explains. “To embrace our differences is to know our greatest strengths.” With her playful and passionate spirit, soulful vocals, and genuine songwriting style, Canal has performed on some of the country’s biggest stages – including Red Rocks Amphitheater, the Apollo, and the Kennedy Center – played more than 100 dates with Michael Franti, and opened for artists like Lawrence, Emily King, and Mac Ayres.With her upcoming project “Victoria EP”, she is ready to introduce an exploration of self-worth in her.

Piano singer and songwriter, Andrew North shares a new album, ‘Allamagoosalum’. The project has such a strong start with a classic light piano melody and airy vocals. The album goes on to bring in such soothing tracks like ‘The Gathering Storm’ and ‘Take Your Time’. His vocals carry so well from one track to another. As you get deeper into the project you are taken on this amazing journey of music and storytelling. It feels like a jaw-dropping cinematic presentation.

It almost feels like you are having a conversation with melodies and it is exceptional. I love how he tells such an empowering story as you get to end of this showcasing how he has grown into a better person. The melodies even get lighter as well as his vocals. The last song is such a soothing track with island vibes infused with powerful piano melodies.

“Speaking on the album, he says, Allamagoosalum is weird, whimsical, and a little spooky. It’s a concept album that weaves together the story of a mysterious, ghostly creature and psychedelic piano-rock tunes.”

He makes fun and quirky music – think Phish meets Ben Folds. Andrew is always trying new things – working solo, in a duo with drummer Pete Casselman, and with his 4-piece band, the Rangers, to explore jazz, Americana, progressive rock, and improvisation. Multi-instrumentalist composer, Justin Guzzwell is back with a new project titled, Green Calico’. The four track extended play has such a mixture of genres infused together that it’s something you never heard before. The first track set the whole project ablaze with it’s electronic jazzy mixture of melodies perfectly placed behind the soothing vocals and background harmonies. The second track takes a slightly more calmer touch it’s melodies and vocals. The third track goes full jazz with it’s smooth drums and subtle bass. The vocals send chills down your spine with it’s airy elements and harmonies.

This project and EP were created during the COVID lockdown. He stated, “I typically work in collaborative projects which were all put on hold, and I found myself with a lot of free time to explore the ways I typically make music. It is very personal in subject matter, and the glitchy, synthetic production reflects the growing sense I had of being cut off from the real world.”

I really admire the jazz influence on this project but also the adding of other genres that work so well with jazz if people just tried blending. The closing to the EP was perfect. It felt like a beautiful goodbye to an exceptional track.

Justin relocated to Montreal in 2010 after receiving a Bachelor of Music in Theory and Composition. He spent the following years in creative exploration, performing in various alternative and experimental music groups (Syngja, People On Pause, Blasted), while expanding his boundaries through other collaborative efforts (the “New Spring” multi-disciplinary residency in Iceland in 2017).

A multi-faceted musician and piano teacher, he was shortlisted for the Gonzervatory in 2017 (a creative workshop/residency hosted by famed composer and performer Chilly Gonzales), and had the opportunity to adjudicate the junior piano competition at the 2018 Kiwanis Music Festival in central Newfoundland (where he performed as a kid).

In fall 2019, he co-composed the soundtrack for the documentary “Sisters: Dreams and Variations”, which continued to be screened in various festivals around the globe. I am now and a fan and you will be too. Listen above and leave your feedback below.

Knowuh has released an awesome new track called “BACKGROUND” I was very heavily influenced by artists such as Kanye as well as Jean Dawson. I was wanting to create nice heavy hitting drums with awesome upper melodic value while also implementing my own style and lyrical ability. This style of music is certainly not going to leave you bored. The music is very different from anything I have heard before. The vocals are great and the lyrics are written very well. London based singer, songwriter, Hydie Humble has released a new single, ‘I Love Harder’. This track has a lot of soul on it and with the intimate guitar melody it really brings in this infectious beat. Her vocals are soothing yet powerful. She really sends goosebumps when she hits those ending notes so smooth. It’s a beautiful track with amazing harmonies and touching lyrics. She reminds me of Tori Kelly honestly. The chorus hits you hard and makes you love the even more with it’s island vibes meshed in.

The song tells a story of nostalgic love as the protagonist dreams of uniting with their summer fling, but understands they probably wouldn’t be in love if their fling lived in their home country: “I love harder when it’s an adventure”. Hydie originally came on the music scene as a drummer and has released an EP and an album with two separate rock bands.

Her debut single, Barcelona, combines soulful, sultry vocals with relaxed nature-infused beats that leave the listener in a dreamy state.
