AJIMAL shares captivating animatoin visual for ‘I’ve Known Your Heart’ – Reignland

AJIMAL is here to share a new captivating animated visual with you for his single titled, ‘I’ve Known Your Heart’. This track has such an intriguing introduction of soft piano melodies that really capture your attention. The emotion is so powerful in every verse he takes on. His vocals are so elegant and crisp, His delegate tone just creates this overwhelming emotion like no other. In the track, he speaks on knowing someone so intimately that you notice the tiniest change in them and read into its meaning.

He says, “There’s a line in the film, Dogville, where one of the characters vouches for another one and says, ‘I’ve known his heart just about as long as it’s been beating’. I loved the intimacy of that. It was the very first track I recorded as part of my recently released album, As It Grows Dark / Light, which came about through a Focusrite competition.

Through that competition, I started working with Grammy Award-winning producer and engineer, Guy Massey, and we subsequently built the album together over the next years. The video for the song emerged out of a discussion with director Alex Moy about a character in Jeanette Winterson’s Sexing the Cherry, that I had somewhat fallen in love with. We wanted to explore the concept of non-romantic love and create an animation which infused magic with journeys and the process of growing both together and apart from someone.”

Director, Alex Moy says about video, “This animated piece is a story of two spiritually-bound figures pulled apart by the currents of time. One grows old, the other grows up and departs from their shared world. But time doesn’t work in a linear, one-dimensional way and this story exists in a suspended reality where time is fragmented. We follow the characters through their separate journeys, watching time steer them back to one another.”

AJIMAL recently clinched second prize in this year’s Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition and singles including ‘How Could You Disappear?,’ ‘ANIMALS’, ‘It’s Real’ and ‘Above All Else, Be Kind’ have featured on several Spotify editorial playlists, with fans at radio including Phil Taggart at Radio 1, Tom Robinson at BBC 6 Music, John Kennedy at Radio X, BBC Introducing’s Nick Roberts, and Jason Kramer at KCRW.
