The Dark Age is the title track of Kitty’s debut EP and was inspired by grandiose themes such as the collapse of the roman empire, decadence, darkness and everything in between. I really like the video for this song, especially the scene where the guy is standing on the cliff over looking the water. The beat to this song is romantic all by itself, but the beautiful vocals are great too. I really like the lyrics, and the music is beautiful as well. There are these moments that stick in my brain that are really hard for me to stop thinking about. I overanalyze everything, every detail.” For Sean Taylor, principal songwriter of Portland-based indie-rock outfit The Angry Lisas, there are many reasons why history will not let him go. From House Balloons to After Hours, The Weekend takes you through all of his iconic era’s in this new animated music video for ‘Snowchild’. This track comes from his latest album, ‘After Hours’, which was praised for his vulnerability and captivating vocals. The four-minute video pays homage to his dark past that originated in the snowy Scarborough division of Toronto, where The Weekend (real name Abel Tesfaye) is from. For this masterpiece he asked anime studio D’Art Shtajio to do the honors, animate the music video. It is important to note that D’Art Shtajio, founded by Arthell Isom, Darnell Isom, and Henry Thurlow, back in 2016 stands as the first Black-owned animation studio in Japan.

During the visual, his vices literally drag him down under into the depths of his despair and creates a life he didn’t want to live as stated in the lyrics to the single. Every inch of the video is perfect and showcases each iconic moment in its own right. The geographic marker for fame and success only lures all of his enemies from previous videos, an animated version of glam rock icon Rick Wilder from Beauty Behind The Madness clips “The Hills,” “Tell Your Friends” and “Can’t Feel My Face” in 2015 as well as the black panthers from his Starboy era in 2016.

Australian born Brit, Declan Carrier has released a new single, ‘Play The Part’. This track is so peaceful as soon as it comes on. His vocals are mesmerizing and feel like a breath of fresh air. You just feel joy when you listen to this. Everything about this track is beautiful.

“This tune is a love letter. Written through my eyes of when my journey as an adult began. It can be interpreted in so many ways to then be sent to a lover, friend, or family member. It’s a direct reference to how my distant relationships have evolved and talk about my journey dealing with that. I hope it resonates with many others as it has myself and my loved ones.”, he explains.

Frantic Endeavor has released an awesome new track called “Infinite Universe” Frantic Endeavor is a Progressive Rock band coming to you from the South Shore of Massachusetts. Six musicians take their radically different influences and fuse them together to create something unique. Songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, Subcon unveils new single, ‘Wax Wings’. This track has an emo foundation infused with a pop-punk hybrid. It really creates a new kind of sound that you don’t usually hear. It’s very intriguing. His vocals have this electronic sound that reminds me of an early 2000’s band like Hot Chelle Rae or NeverShoutNever with the emotion he puts into each note.

“This song, a personal one, is a reflection of the constant “roller coaster” of highs and lows one experiences when pursuing their dreams, and a looming fear of “crashing and burning.” More specifically, the narrator describes the way he pursued music as a path to overcome his depression, anxiety, and feelings of hopelessness – but feels that he has sacrificed so much in the process and endured so much frustration that he has ended up back where he started, or possibly worse. The song uses the ancient Greek mythological figure, Icarus, as a metaphor for this concept. He attempts to escape his troubles on a pair of wax wings, but flies too close to the sun in his unchecked fit of ambition, and ultimately ends up falling to his death.”

He began producing music of his own in 2018. His first EP, titled “My Own Archenemy” was released in December 2019, which he created to help him climb out of a long battle with depression, and to help process emotions that had been kept inside for a while.
