“Don’t Call Me Baby” was inspired by a moment of #metoo frustration. “The kind of frustration caused by subversive displays of chauvinism that, at least until very recently, were not generally recognized as inappropriate. I guess to some people they still aren’t.” The sounds of Honey Wild are just as its name would suggest: smooth and sweet, yet unrestrained. Pairing honest lyrics with jazzy chords and thunderous beats, Honey Wild is bluesy, high-energy rock and roll.
The band was founded in 2018 by New Jersey singer-songwriter Hana Denson. Through the local DIY music scene, she connected with guitarist and songwriter Cristian Fernandez, drummer Russ Grimm, bassist Michael Notarmaso, and pianist Daniel Rofer. Their forthcoming single “Heart” will be released September 20, 2019, followed by a self-titled EP on October 18th.
