Devon releases debut single, “Never Mind” from new EP – Reignland

Devon has released an awesome new track called “Never Mind” It is the debut single off his upcoming EP, Sitting Up Straight. Sara Bareilles, The 1975, and HAIM, singer-songwriter Devon is a rising star on the NYC music scene according to his press release. After only one weekend, it is already up to 6.8k streams on Spotify and is currently featured on 34 playlists, including Female Pop Hits (#10), Pure Morning (#16), Indieheads (#11), and this awesome playlist dedicated to LANY, Lauv & The 1975 (#1)

Speaking on the track, she says, “”I wrote and produced this song during the fall of 2018, and it was my first exploration into soundscaping, creating my own little sonic world where nothing that anyone said could reach me. It is my pleasure to welcome you into that world now, as well as rejoin reality myself with a slightly new perspective. This project has been an awesome experience for me in learning to be a more experimental lyricist / producer, to be less precious with song structure, to be more trusting of what feels good (and what doesn’t), to sit up straight and to take up space.” 

The video for this song was so interesting…I can’t believe she ruined the words to the song like that! I liked the way she wrote the lyrics and then added all those little scribbles, it was fun to watch. It’s a really nice beat on this track and I like the vocals a lot. The keyboard, drums and guitar are fantastic! The lyrics are very well written, it’s easy to sing along. This song can be danced to or chilled to. Great work on this project.
