Blame Baby releases indie pop single, ‘The Floor’ – Reignland

Los Angeles indie rock trio Blame Baby has released a new single, Blame Baby The Floor.

The song is the follow up to last year’s debut single. The bedroom pop track deals with a profound existential anxiety. It has a nostalgia rock feel to it with a modern indie rock flow. It blends perfectly and makes you want to dance your anxiety away. I love the lead singers tone, a dream by itself. Led by Jesse Johnson on vocals and guitar, the band also features Omar D. Brancato on bass and Matt Tucci on drums.

Says Johnson: “I think it’s pretty obvious, but ‘The Floor’ is about coming to terms with the misery that incessant wanting can bring and resolving to surrender. It reminds me of the cowboy’s logic in a way: ‘About half of life’s problems come from wanting your own way, the other half comes from getting it.”

He continues, “It’s hard to participate in this culture and find peace from within when every single billboard and tv commercial is yelling that relief is ‘out there.’ This song is about giving in to the natural flow of life as opposed to wanting something so bad you can’t help but inflict your ruthless will and strangle it to death… or getting what you want and realizing you don’t want it at all, you were probably just addicted to wanting it.”
