Opus Vitae releases new single, “Carry The Weight” – Reignland
Opus Vitae has released a cool new track called “Carry the Weight” Opus Vitae (meaning life’s work) is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist/singer Banah Winn. The lyrics of this song will make you put this on repeat for sure.
She spoke briefly on the track meaning stating, “Carry The Weight has held a few different meanings for me. I first thought of it as a commentary on social media and sort of self-inflation selfie culture. Something that as an artist in this age I have to take ironically.” She continued, “Also I wrote it early during the current political climate situation and I wanted something (especially the end) that expressed (however indirectly) how fired up and angry I was feeling at that time. I remember a number of my favorite indie bands releasing these super mellow, un-fiery records and thinking to myself “Aren’t you all mad right now?!” Winn takes the same approach to compose, and recording solo while performing with a dedicated live band.
The drums and keyboard sound wonderful! The vocals are outstanding and really showcase her range. The dancy bass tone that comes from the keyboard adds such a cool melody to the track. Be sure to listen to this awesome new track above and please leave your feedback below. Add this to your playlist too.
